Study on German fast start financing published

The fast start financing (FSF) period runs out at the end of 2012. Germany reliably fulfilled its FSF promises over the past years and will continue to allocate outstanding funds throughout 2012. Climate Analytics, the Wuppertal Institute for Climate, Environment and Energy GmbH, and Germanwatch e.V. carried out a study analysing FSF experiences to date. Based on these findings, the authors draw up recommendations for the further shaping of long-term financing for mitigation and adaptation.

The study was commissioned by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH and financed by the International Climate Initiative.
