Consultation of the IKI Gender Analysis Guidelines

The International Climate Initiative (IKI) is currently implementing its Gender Strategy. As part of this strategy, future IKI projects will need to follow gender-responsive project planning and implementation. To ensure this, future projects will conduct a gender analysis in the preparation phase and prepare a project gender action plan.

The IKI Gender Team has prepared a guideline document that intends to help project implementing organisations with conducting a gender analysis and the project gender action plan. The document also contains background information on requirements that need to be fulfilled by future projects.

In order to ensure the practical applicability of the guideline, the IKI Gender Team would like to invite implementing organisations as well as stakeholders to participate in the written consultation of this guideline.

The team is interested in feedback from project managers, as well as feedback from a focal point on gender issues that your organisation might already have. Large organisations are kindly asked to coordinate internally and send collected feedback. Local implementing organisations are very welcome to participate in this consultation.

Please download the draft guideline and the corresponding form and review them using comment and tracked-changes functions. We would like to ask you to answer the following guiding questions during your review:

• To what extent is the guideline coherent and understandable? 
• Which information from the guideline is particularly helpful?
• What information is missing from the guideline?
• Are certain parts too long and could they be shortened?
• To what extent can the guideline be applied to projects in your own subject area?
• How could the applicability of the guideline be further improved?
• To what extent are the rules described in the guideline understandable and appropriate for future IKI projects?
• Are there other resources that would be helpful for carrying out a gender analysis?

The IKI Gender Team organises two virtual consultations on the 18 October 2022, 9:00-10:00 CEST and 16:30-17:30 CEST.
