Capacity Building for Climate Protection

As of: October 2021

The purpose of the project was to provide advice and promote the exchange of expertise with the aim of creating an enabling environment for climate protection measures and extending the political and economic dialogue with the partner countries in the area of climate protection. Local demonstration projects were intended to serve as showcases and to present German industry with options for technology transfer. Specific local measures included the provision of advice on the development and implementation of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects, the development and diffusion of customised technologies for supplying rural households with sustainable energy, and the afforestation of degraded landscapes with tree species that are adapted to the increasing aridity.
