Climate Protection and Distributed Energy Supply - German-Indian Energy Forum

The purpose of the project was to support bilateral energy-policy collaboration in the context of the Indo-German Energy Forum (DIEF) through specific cooperative activities. This support focused on promoting the exchange of ideas and information on these activities and on technological cooperation, with the aim of shaping sustainable energy policy. The project actively promoted economic cooperation between German and Indian industrial enterprises so as to provide a stimulus for investment in energy efficiency measures and renewable energy sources.

- Project completed
- GIZ/KfW prepared the first road map proposal, which was approved by both the German and Indian departments
- A series of cooperative projects were initiated, and have contributed to more extensive cooperation
- The DIEF liaison office supported the holding of a symposium, two energy forums and working group meetings with high-ranking participants from both sides; ten workshops were held and a delegation of official Indian partners (MNRE) visited Germany on the occasion of the Intersolar trade fair in Munich
