Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership Fund (E5P)

As of: September 2021

The Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environmental Partnership ("E5P") coordinates and accelerates the implementation of key energy efficiency and environmental protection projects in municipal infrastructure sectors. These include, for example, district heating projects, public transport and lighting projects. Non-repayable grants are made on the basis of the funds paid in. These enable loan financing via development banks and help to raise projects above the economic viability threshold. BMU has used funds from the International Climate Initiative (IKI) to pay an untied, voluntary contribution into the Eastern Europe Energy Efficiency and Environment Partnership Fund (E5P Fund).
