The project brought together leading economists and political advisers with leading international experts from the field of environmental economics. The purpose of the exchange was a joint report that will open up options for China's path to a low-carbon economy. The report was submitted to the Chinese Prime Minister and publicly presented within the framework of a Global Forum.

State of implementation/results

  • Project completed
  • Report entitled 'Going Clean - The Economics of China's Low-Carbon Development' compiled by working group of Chinese and international experts
  • Report presented to high-level Chinese government representatives, event entitled 'Towards a Global Green Recovery after the Financial and Economic Crisis' organised within the context of the 2009 Global Forum
  • High-level international conference held in 2010 upon conclusion of the project 'Sino-European Conference on Post-Copenhagen Prospects for Global Climate Policy'
