Fast track development of 2 transformative climate-compatible development plans
As of: March 2021
The project was supporting the Government of the Dominican Republic in formulating a transformative climate-compatible development plan (CCDP). Sectors with a high potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions were identified through the use of a business-as-usual scenario for the country’s economic development and then calculating the resulting emissions. The list of priority areas served as a basis for the development and implementation of an ambitious, data-based and transformative CCDP. Concrete action plans resulting from the CCDP addressed the direct potential for reducing greenhouse gas emissions in the sectors, and constituted a basis for climate-friendly economic growth.
