Health Adaptation to Climate Change

As of: September 2021

The project was part of a seven-project programme implemented by WHO and aimed at strengthening the country's capacity to identify the health-related risks of climate change. A national climate change and health adaptation plan was developed, which determined the concrete health risks related to climate change, assessed the local capacity to respond to these threats, and set up a contingency plan for emergency situations. The programme aimed at building capacity by increasing knowledge on climate and health issues at a national level. It also developed an early warning system by improving the information infrastructure to allow better access to information in cases of emergency. Part of the project was dedicated to the transfer of technologies to ensure water safety in high risk areas.
