
Maintaining Habitats in the Altai Sayan Region

The project aimed to protect the boreal forests of the KASE by extending the reserve areas to the western area. The project led to the creation of 250,000 ha of protected areas in the western part of KASE, improved the interconnectivity between eastern and western part of KASE by creating a "green corridor" of 525,000 ha and set up a fire management system in existing and in new protected areas.
