NDC Policy Programme

As of: November 2020

The Colombian NDC stipulate an emission reduction of 20% by 2030 and an increase in adaptation capacities. The project aims at strengthening the coordination of relevant climate protection and adaptation measures by the Ministry of the Environment and other public and private sector stakeholders. Priority activities include the support of sectorial and regional partners in the integration of mitigation and adaptation measures into agricultural value-adding processes, the improvement of institutional structures for the implementation of the NDC at national and sub-national level, and the continued development of a monitoring system. This contributes to national development strategies and to the sustainability of the peace process. The experiences gained are shared at international forums and a contribution is made to the increase in ambitions of the NDC of Colombia, conditioned by international funding.
