Study on CCS Repositories

As of: October 2021

Within the context of the EU-China Summit in December 2008, this project aimed to support cooperation on the issue of Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). A focus was placed on assessing China’s geological capacity for storing carbon dioxide, and on preparing an implementation plan for a CCS demonstration plant by 2013. To this end, a European leadership group received support in undertaking research into developing a robust technical, financial and policy framework. As part of this work, consultations with CCS experts and stakeholders were held in China and the EU.
