Supporting the Co-facilitators of Work stream I of the Transitional Committee for the design of the Green Climate Fund: Scope, guiding principles, and cross-cutting issues

As of: November 2020

Under the guidance of Work stream Co-facilitators, the Technical Support Unit (TSU) supported the Transitional Committee (TC), in defining scope, guiding principles, and exploring crosscutting issues, as defined for Work stream I, for the design of the Green Climate Fund (GCF) through providing analytical and substantive support. The following issues have been explored: (1) Objectives and principles; (2) Thematic scope; (3) Size and scalability; and (4) Country-led and results-based approaches, for the design of the GCF. The TSU also collated and synthesized the views of TC members, stakeholders and observers, as submitted, on issues under Workstream I. These activities and continued substantive support to the TC also covered the technical workshops and three TC meetings and contributed to finally reaching an agreement on its recommendations for scope and guiding principles of the GCF.
