
Supporting the implementation of REDD+ Peru

The purpose of the project was to support the Peruvian government in connection with the creation of a national REDD+ system that allows sub-national approaches to be integrated into a national REDD+ policy. It was further intended to establish a national REDD+ register, to promote sub-national pilot approaches and to establish a REDD+ support fund. An additional goal was to create a regulatory framework for emerging local initiatives as well as incentives for new projects that integrate into the national system.

Project completed
- The IKI funding made important contributions to the achievement of the REDD + MINAM project. Most of the target indicators were achieved. Central instruments for the implementation of REDD at national level have been developed. In addition, the project was characterized by high international visibility.
