Technical dialogue on Intended Nationally Determined Contributions towards a 2015 agreement under UNFCCC

As of: September 2021

The project supported decision-makers as they developed their Intended Nationally Determined Contributions (INDCs) by providing a forum for discussion. The INDCs relate to a highly topical area of international climate policy that is still suffering from considerable uncertainty. The project therefore supported regional workshops on the INDCs, at which national representatives who are responsible for their country’s climate policy discussed the possible design of the INDCs and had the opportunity to learn from one another. Following the workshops, the results were summarised in a workshop report and distributed among the target countries and the international climate community. The project forms part of the overarching concept for a series of technical dialogues regarding the INDCs, funded by several donors; it is planned to hold at least six regional workshops on the INDCs and (optionally) further measures.
