Tunesian Solar Plan: PV Project Tozeur

As of: September 2021

The Tunisian Solar Plan defines the framework within which the Tunisian government intends to promote solar power production in the country. As part of the German Climate Technology Initiative, the project supports the government in the effective implementation of the Solar Plan and thus in the expansion of renewable energies on a large scale. The financing components of the project support the construction of a 10-megawatt photovoltaic power plant in Tozeur, as envisaged in the Solar Plan. The project also advises the Tunisian project executing agency on an accompanying measure, which will eventually enable sustainable energy projects to be independently planned and implemented.

State of implementation/results

  • In July 2017, during an official event, the first stone for power plant "Tozeur I" was laid.
