Digitalization, emerging technologies and justice in changing climate

This solution oriented ‘case clinic’ discussion will use ongoing cases from the global south cities to illustrate pathways to advance inclusive and equitable digitalisation that can lead to transformative climate actions. Using case clinics formats for the lightening talks, it will delve into four different ongoing as well as lighthouse cases from across the globe to provide a candid overview of challenges, opportunities and innovations that can assist cities to become smart, just and resilient. Discussions will cover inclusive access to digitalisation, capacity-building initiatives, and governance frameworks and safeguards that have shown potential in harnessing emerging technologies for climate action in a socially and environmentally just manner.

Based on the learning from the IKI funded “Transformative Climate Action using Participatory data driven decision making platforms (T-CAP)” project, this engaging session aspires to inspire cities and change-makers at WUF through experience sharing and peer to peer learning.
