The CRED Sectoral Policy Brief on Economy-wide Effects of Adaptation in the Energy Sector in Kazakhstan presents macroeconomic implications of investments in exemplary climate change adaptation and mitigation measures in the energy sector, namely the expansion of underground powerlines, deployment of wind power and energy efficiency improvements in the housing sector. The findings indicate that investing in underground powerlines will create up to 9,900 jobs and up to 0.4% higher GDP annually.
