Licences for the restoration of ecosystems in Indonesia
A significant proportion of the world’s remaining tropical forests can be found in Indonesia. Although they are considered to be a globally important carbon store and habitat, two thirds of the area is classified as production forest. On the islands of Sumatra and Borneo, in particular, huge swathes of forest disappear every day as a result of logging, fires or conversion to palm oil plantations.
