Chewing over consumption-based carbon emissions accounting

Conventional thinking about mitigating climate change is based on strategies to lower carbon emissions arising from production. By exploring the role that increasing consumption plays in driving carbon emissions, consumption-based carbon emissions accounting might provide us with new insights into challenges to and opportunities for driving the shift to a low-carbon economy.
