Without land there is no life: an interview mit Nemonte Nenquimo

Nemonte Nenquimo, Indigenous activist from the Ecuadorian Amazon, is fighting for human and environmental rights. As co-founder of Alianza Ceibo, her coalition overturned a court ruling in Ecuador to stop selling land to oil companies on the Waorani territory. She is recognised globally for her activism including as a 2020 winner of UNDP’s Equator Prize. In this interview, she spoke of the challenges Indigenous Peoples face in protecting their rights and her vision for a sustainable future.
