Integrating Agriculture in National Adaptation Plans

By clicking on the video, you will change the context of this page.

The video explains how the agriculture sectors are the most vulnerable to climate change and climate variability. This poses a multitude of challenges that must be overcome in the medium and long-term to ensure the lives, livelihoods as well as food security and nutrition of millions of people around the world. The need to adapt to changing climatic conditions is pressing for the poor - particularly women- who depend directly on agriculture for their livelihoods. The National Adaptation Plan (NAP) process can catalyse implementation and financing for these agriculture-related adaptation priorities and working towards meeting the goals laid out in the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
The project ‘Integrating Agriculture in National Adaptation Plans (NAPs)’ receives EUR 15 million in support from the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMUB) and is carried out by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in cooperation with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).
