Adaptation to climate change in water resource management in coastal towns and cities in South-East Asia

As of: April 2018

Objective and activities

The project promoted the exchange of research findings relating to instruments and methods for adaptation to climate change among the countries involved. It focuses primarily on the exchange of information, experience and best practices in carrying out climate change risk analyses, adapting the management of urban water resources, and building local capacities in these fields. The project carried out pilot risk analyses in selected coastal towns and cities in Indonesia, Thailand and Viet Nam. On this basis, guidance documents and adaptation programmes were developed for coastal towns and cities, and the project provided support in their implementation. It disseminated the findings of the collaborative research activities and the results achieved through the pilot measures among relevant local stakeholders.
