The project was helping ensure more efficient energy use in energy in China. KfW was offering a long-term credit line of EUR 41.8 million to the Export Import Bank of China (Exim Bank). Exim Bank was using these funds to extend long-term loans to private investors for energy efficient measures. This was meant to promote investments in energy-saving measures in Chinese industrial enterprises, such as retrofitting industrial boilers and furnaces as well as expansion of energy-efficient drive systems. The credit line was be accompanied by advisory services for Exim Bank employees on assessing investment projects in energy efficiency.
