Database for management of climate adaptation information and data

As of: August 2018

Objective and activities

In Indonesia, the statistical basis for the efficient use of climate adaptation information and the formulation of appropriate adaptation strategies were insufficient. There was a lack of scientific capacities as well as of human, financial and technical resources. Accordingly, the purpose of the project was to improve Indonesia’s ability to adapt to climate change impacts by means of an improved statistical basis and a standardised processing of data. A further goal of the project was to create an information management system to support planning, implementation and monitoring of adaptation measures.

State of implementation/results

  • Project completed
  • Data formats have been designed and documented at workshops in two regional offices (Ciputat, Medan)
  • Workflows for measurement data collection and digitalisation have been designed and documented in two regions
