Supporting Russia's long term climate policy development and implementation

As of: July 2019

Objective and activities

The project aims to provide economic policy incentives for decarbonisation and for low Carbon Development (LCD) in Russia. The national growth agenda is to be brought into line with low carbon commitments. To this end, decision-makers from politics and industry are advised on a needs-oriented basis and receive recommendations for action on low-carbon economic growth, so that a long-term LCD strategy for Russia's economy can be coordinated. At the same time, the understanding of LCD is enhanced by economic analyses of Low Carbon Trends, Developments and Challenges in Russia and in the international context. These findings and conclusions will also be presented within the framework of a comprehensive stakeholder Dialogue with decision-makers and experts from politics, business and science discussed. In this way, a common understanding of LCD is created.
