Tracking and Strengthening Climate Action (TASCA)

As of: April 2018

Objective and activities

Building upon the 'Measurement and Performance Tracking Project' (MAPT), this project will focus on providing governments with tools and resources to track the implementation and effects of their NDCs and the underlying policies that support them, as well as identifying further abatement opportunities that can inform future NDCs. In doing so, the project will arm countries with the ability to implement the MRV provisions of the Paris Agreement. Lessons learned will be fed into the UNFCCC to develop a robust system to track and report progress. The primary beneficiaries are the governments participating in the project, as they will have strengthened systems to track the implementation and effects of their NDCs, report their results accordingly to domestic and international constituencies, and prepare for future NDCs.
