GCF Readiness Programme builds countries' capacity to access the Green Climate Fund. It is funded with EUR 15 million by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMUB).

Its website shares the methodology used in partner countries to prepare them to receive and utilise GCF funding, through support modules in the areas of planning for and accessing climate finance at the national level; delivering climate finance and implementing activities; and monitoring expenditures.

Additionally, the website includes information on partner countries’ national climate finance readiness plans, and work on the ground to implement climate change mitigation and adaptation activities, to highlight possible areas where climate funding could be particularly effective.

The website is also designed to give easy access to best practice methodologies and lessons learned during the Programme implementation, through sharing readiness tools and guidebooks with practitioners, providers, and receivers of readiness support around the world.

The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), and the World Resources Institute (WRI), are the implementing partners of the GCF Readiness Programme.
