Ecosystem-based adaptation: the key to reducing climate risk in Uganda

Ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) is an increasingly popular strategy to address climate vulnerability in developing countries. Uganda — a country already implementing EbA — is currently creating a legal framework to ensure ecosystems continue to be healthy and provide for communities. This local case study seeks to inform Uganda’s decision makers by discussing the effectiveness of EbA, what is helping or hindering implementation, and how challenges can be addressed in emerging legislation and government planning.
