Country specific selection procedure: South Africa

The deadline for this country call expired August 31, 2020.

Status of the selection procedure

The first stage of the selection procedure is completed, and the lead implementing organizations responsible for project outlines have been informed about the results. The responsible lead implementing organizations of successful outlines have been requested to submit a detailed project proposal.

Overview – funding priorities and selected project outlines

Through this country specific selection procedure, one project for each of the following funding priorities will be funded:

1.    Just Transition to a Decarbonised Economy for South Africa
2.    Land Use and Climate Change Mitigation – Taking Action

Governments worldwide are currently implementing economic packages to reduce the negative effects of the COVID 19 pandemic. Measures that are now being taken therefore also provide the opportunity to align economic and structural reform packages with the global goals of climate and biodiversity protection. We thus requested submitting organisations to integrate corresponding components into their project outlines.
