Country specific selection procedure: South Africa

The deadline for the selection procedure for country specific programme outlines for South Africa expired on 31 August 2020. Project outlines can no longer be submitted. The selection of the outlines has not yet been finalized.

The earliest start of projects can be expected from the beginning of 2021. Only fully completed outlines, submitted via the IKI online platform by the deadlines above, will be considered in the selection procedure.

The funding volume is up to EUR 30 millions for both projects.

The IKI is looking for two projects on

  1. Just Transition to a Decarbonised Economy for South Africa and
  2. Land Use and Climate Change Mitigation.

Governments worldwide are currently implementing economic packages to reduce the negative effects of the COVID 19 pandemic. Measures that are now being taken therefore also provide the opportunity to align economic and structural reform packages with the global goals of climate and biodiversity protection. We thus requested submitting organisations to integrate corresponding components into their project outlines.
