IKI Medium Grants 2020

Status of the procedure

The selection of project ideas for the IKI Medium Grants Call 2020 has been completed. 204 project outlines were submitted in the first selection stage. 11 project outlines were invited to elaborate their project ideas in a detailed project proposal.

Submissions were possible in the period from 12 February 2020 to 26 May 2020.

Funding priorities

The first call of the IKI Medium Grants programme in 2020 focused on the areas of mitigation of climate change and biodiversity. Thematic funding priorities included city, mobility, energy and biodiversity.


During the second selection stage the following 11 project outlines were invited to elaborate their project ideas in a detailed project proposal.

Improving energy efficiency in the building sector through the use of renewable raw materials from agroforestry systems

  • Implementing organisations: Hochschule für nachhaltige Entwicklung Eberswalde (HNEE),  International Centre for Research in Agroforestry (ICRAF), Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers (TIIAME)
  • Country: Usbekistan

Green Youth labs: Training program for innovation and a socially equitable energy transition (GreenYOU)

Communities of Practice as driver of a bottom-up energy transition in Nigeria
