Implementing regional and national adaptation priorities in Central and West Africa (PACO) - Preparation phase
The project aims to increase climate resilience in West and Central African countries through effective implementation of adaptation planning in NAPs/NDCs. To this end, it promotes the role of regional climate commissions, strenghtens national climate governance in the four partner countries and works together with regional banks. It integrates public and private investors in the NAP/NDC implementation process and develops bankable projects. The aim of the preparatory phase is to determine in close cooperation with the envisaged partners, the content and organisational structure of the project in more detail and to elaborate partnership agreements with external organisations. Core activities at country level include individual interviews and (virtual) focus groups with relevant stakeholders comprising regional and national, public and private actors (including governmental organisations, NGOs, the private sector, academia and research).
