Sustainable Urban Mobility


Objective and activities

The project built competence in the area of urban mobility at both national and local level in Ukraine. At local level, a plan for mobility management during and after EURO 2012 was developed in collaboration with the city of Lviv. In addition, the project supported the Ukrainian environment ministry in taking environmental aspects into account in the transport sector. The focus was on the promotion of public transport services and non-motorised transport, with special attention being paid to climate protection aspects.

  • Continuous guidance in the preparation of the mobility strategy for EURO 2012 provided
  • Training measures carried out: workshops, study trips, the creation and provision of training and information materials on mobility-related planning, advisory services and implementation
  • An integrated concept for promoting cycling has been implemented
  • Measures for increasing the efficiency of public transport implemented
  • Online knowledge platform and a monthly bulletin disseminate current information on principles and methods of climate-friendly and sustainable mobility and promote regional, national and international knowledge transfer
