Build Forward Better
Briefings for a green economic recovery
Shortly after COVID-19 disrupted life across the globe, people around the world called for a “Green Recovery”. The question of how we can align economic responses to the crisis with sustainability goals has become a salient issue on the international agenda. The Build Forward Better Briefing aims to provide decision makers and implementing organisations with insights on the topic.
Since July 2020, the briefing discusses various aspects of building forward better, with each issue covering a different focus topic. The briefing presents, for instance, measures and approaches by governments, multilateral organisations, research institutes and other actors at the national and international level, as well as ideas about how a sustainable, inclusive and resilient recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic could look like.
The Build Forward Better Briefing is published by several GIZ projects funded by the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU). The opinions expressed are those of the authors and do not necessarily coincide with views of the organisation.
