INTERACT-Bio is a four-year project designed to improve the utilization and management of nature within fast-growing cities and the regions surrounding them. It aims to provide expanding urban communities in the Global South with nature-based solutions and associated long-term benefits.

The project will enable governments at all levels – from local to national – to integrate their efforts for mainstreaming biodiversity and ecosystem services into core subnational government functions such as spatial planning, land-use management, local economic development and infrastructure design.

The project will support city-regions to understand and unlock, within their specific local context, the potential of nature to provide essential services and new or enhanced economic opportunities, while simultaneously protecting and enhancing the biodiversity and ecosystems on which these services and opportunities depend. In doing so, these actions will place the participating city-regions on a more resilient and sustainable development path.

INTERACT-Bio is being implemented in Brazil, India and Tanzania.

International Climate Finance and support to national climate policy processes in emerging markets

Die Studie analysiert, wie internationale Geber und Entwicklungspartner zu policy Entwicklungen beitragen können, die zu einer Umlenkung der Finanzströme im Sinne des Artikels 2.1.c des Pariser Klimaabkommens führen. Es betrachtet insbesondere die Situation der grossen Wachstumsökonomien Brasilien, Indien, Indonesien und Südafrika und macht entsprechende Politikempfehlungen, um diese Interventionen effektiver zu gestalten. 

Lösungen im Fokus: Ökosystembasierte Anpassung von den Bergen bis zu den Ozeanen

Die ökosystembasierte Anpassung ist ein Thema von globaler Relevanz, das von verschiedenen Projekten in den verschiedensten Ländern und Ökosystemen erfolgreich umgesetzt wird. Dieser Bericht veranschaulicht die Vielfalt der EbA in der Praxis, die online auf der Plattform "PANORAMA - Solutions for a Healthy Planet" zu finden ist. Diese Lösungen sollen Politik, Entscheidungsträger und Projektentwickler inspirieren und zeigen, dass ökosystembasierte Anpassung von einer Vielzahl von Akteuren und Organisationen erfolgreich umgesetzt wird.

Das Integrating Agriculture in National Adaptation Plans– Programme (NAP-Ag) ist eine mehrjährige Initiative (2015-2018), die von der Internationalen Klimaschutzinitiative (IKI) des Bundesministerium für Umwelt, Naturschutz, Bau und Reaktorsicherheit (BMUB) finanziert wird. Das NAP-Ag-Programm unterstützt Länder in Afrika, Asien und Lateinamerika, um Klimaschutzanpassungsmaßnahmen in relevanten nationalen Planungs- und Budgetierungsprozessen zu identifizieren und zu integrieren.
