Support to the Climate and Energy Transition Partnership

The first bilateral Climate and Energy Transition Partnership between Germany’s Foreign Office and Kosovo’s Ministry of Economy and Ministry of Environment, Spatial Planning and Infrastructure initiates a new phase of cooperation between the two countries on climate and energy issues. To accelerate Kosovo’s transition to a carbon-neutral, green economy, the project supports Kosovo’s systematic integration into multilateral climate processes through capacity building and high-level advocacy efforts. It facilitates an energy transition through bilateral dialogue at the ministerial level, outreach with potential investors, and energy planning at the subnational level in favour of expanded renewable energy use. The project supports this dialogue, promotes awareness raising about climate change and opportunities for a rapid energy transition with a strong focus on youth and media in their respective roles as future climate leaders and reliable sources of data-driven information.
