Medium Grants 2023
The projects selected for the fourth IKI Medium Grants ideas competition underwent rigorous evaluation and discussions with the relevant experts and ministries. The deadline for submitting project outlines was 4th July 2023.
Organisations whose project ideas were not considered in this year's call for proposals were notified by email.
107 organisations submitted 129 project outlines. Among these, 57 were assigned to the decarbonisation funding priority, while 72 outlines were submitted for the deforestation-free supply chains funding priority. The organisations whose outlines have been selected will now receive invitations to submit detailed project proposal.
A total of 11 projects, with a total funding amount of approximately EUR 8 million, were selected. Among these, 5 projects fall under funding priority I, overseen by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Protection (BMWK), while 6 projects fall under funding priority II, overseen by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV).
The selected projects are expected to start in the third quarter of 2024.
