Integrated Climate Services for Transformative Climate Action (CISTA)
Many communities, farmers and water resource managers do not have reliable information about how a changing climate will affect their daily lives and livelihoods. Improved climate services that combine weather, climate and sectoral data make climate risk management more effective. This helps people adapt to climate impacts and better prepare for disaster risks. Inpartner countries the project supports the use of climate services for climate and biodiversity policy by establishing governance frameworks and building technical skills needed to create such services. It develops tools for climate services and risk management together with communities and the sectors most affected, while also taking the specific needs of women and marginalised groups into account. The World Meteorological Organization’s Regional Climate Centres produce and exchange science-based climate information across regions.

State of implementation/results
- The preparation phase of the project includes the following topics :
- Climate risks are increasing worldwide, but decision-makers often lack reliable climate data and proven tools for effective climate risk management. Without evidence-based foundations, there is a risk of maladaptation and inadequate development planning. The project improves access to customized climate information services that are adapted to regional and national needs. It strengthens competencies along the entire value chain - from data collection to application - and supports the anchoring of such services in political processes such as NAPs, NDCs and NBSAPs. The aim is to promote climate-resilient decision-making and increase the resilience of communities and ecosystems.
- After the preparation phase, a decision is made on further funding by the International Climate Initiative.
