New “IKI Project Planning and Monitoring Guidelines” published
The revised edition is aligned with the cycle of the funded projects and includes a chapter on the strategic objectives of the funding programme.
The International Climate Initiative (IKI) publishes an updated version of its Project Planning and Monitoring Guidelines in October 2025.
What’s new?
The document has been fundamentally restructured and redesigned to significantly improve user-friendliness. A clearer layout and the use of various design elements make it easier to find relevant information quickly and efficiently.
A key feature of the new version is its alignment with the project cycle: The guidelines now clearly distinguish between the planning and implementation phases of a project. This allows implementing organisations to quickly navigate to the sections most relevant to their current project stage.
A new chapter focuses on IKI’s Strategic Objectives (SOs). As part of the IKI 2030 Strategy, four overarching objectives have been defined to guide programme-wide monitoring. These objectives make results visible and measurable at the programme level. Importantly, all data used for monitoring the overall IKI portfolio originates from individual projects. The guidelines therefore offer practical guidance on how projects can select relevant SOs and document their contributions.
Previous versions are no longer valid
The revised IKI Project Planning and Monitoring Guidelines are now available for download.
The IKI invites all implementing organisations to explore and begin using the new version. Please note: With the release of this edition, previous versions are no longer valid.
