ACCIÓN Clima IV - Regional knowledge exchange and implementation of biodiversity and climate strategies

Countries in Central America and the Caribbean are facing growing challenges related to climate change, biodiversity loss, and energy security. This situation calls for stronger regional cooperation as well as integrated, cross-sectoral solutions. In Costa Rica, the project supports partners in achieving climate and biodiversity objectives, among others through the development of a regulatory framework for the implementation of Article 6 of the Paris Agreement, the establishment of alternative financing mechanisms for NDC implementation, and the promotion of innovative energy projects. At the regional level, the project contributes to technical exchange and cooperation in prioritized thematic areas. It supports the scaling up of nature-based solutions, strengthens knowledge and monitoring capacities for biodiversity conservation, and creates the necessary enabling conditions for improved integration of grid-connected distributed renewable generation.
