The IKI in 2021: Higher ambitions for climate action and biodiversity protection
The International Climate Initiative (IKI) made its contribution to global climate and biodiversity protection even under difficult conditions - a review of the year 2020 with six examples of project work.
Facts and figures 2021
Reflecting on 2021, the International Climate Initiative (IKI) was once again able to achieve its ambitious goals in the second year of the pandemic.

More ambition at all levels
In 2021, the International Climate Initiative (IKI) focussed on supporting the definition, development and implementation of more ambitious targets for the mitigation of climate change and the conservation of biological diversity.
Gender equality for effective climate and biodiversity projects
The IKI published its gender strategy in 2021. This strategy aims to support the inclusion and potential of all stakeholders and, in so doing, contribute to a social transformation.

Selected IKI impacts 2015–2020
Based on all IKI projects that reported on the three action indicators "mitigation", "people" and "ecosystems" in the reporting years 2015-2020, a first evaluation of the IKI standard indicators could be made.
Practical examples of project work
These practical examples from the four funding areas of the IKI, illustrate the concrete work of the IKI projects in the partner countries. All six projects illustrate how IKI's work is advancing ambitions for the mitigation of climate change and the conservation of biodiversity.
