AgriVoltaics World Conference 2026
The conference will be hosted by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), Government of India, with support from “Indo-German Cooperation on Agrivoltaics” project (implemented on behalf of the International Climate Initiative of the Federal Government of Germany).
This year’s edition is expected to attract more than 1,000 participants from India and abroad. Aligned with India’s upcoming PM-KUSUM 2.0 (Agricultural Solarization Scheme), the conference will bring together farmers, industry, government ministries, international delegations, start-ups, financing institutes, State Nodal Agencies, think tanks and research stakeholders to explore how India can translate agrivoltaics into action and facilitate South-South as well as North-South cooperation.
The conference will begin with a plenary inaugural session, followed by three days of parallel thematic tracks. While two tracks will focus on scientific and technical discussions, a dedicated India Focus Track will provide a practical platform featuring a pitch hub, state-level sessions, project deep-dives, and farmer-oriented interactions.
The Conference focuses on a wide range of topics that support the advancement, deployment, and scaling of agrivoltaics systems across different regions and contexts.
Conference topics include:
- Innovations in Technologies, Designs, and Monitoring
- Plant Growth, Yields, and Agricultural Incomes
- Legal Frameworks, Policies, and Regulatory Aspects
- Business Model Innovations and Assessments
- Financing Mechanisms for Agrivoltaics
- Social and Equity Issues in Scaling Agrivoltaics
- Role of Civil Society and Impact Investors
- Global Best Practices and Case Studies
- Perspectives from the Global South
- Mainstreaming Agrivoltaics in India: Challenges and Opportunities
Pre- and post-conference further official events will be organised. A technical tour around Delhi will provide insights into the Agrivoltaic sites and provide a platform for direct exchange with the developers and farmers.
Following the Conference (21–23 October 2026, New Delhi), a four-day Agrivoltaics Winter School will be held from 26–29 October 2026. Designed as an intensive, hands-on training program through a mix of lectures, discussions, and field visits.
