New Brazilian-German Cooperation in the Cerrado-Amazon Interface Basins

Brazil and Germany will present their new cooperation on bioeconomy, forest protection and restoration of forest ecosystems in the Amazon and Cerrado. It delivers on joint strategic goals, including the socio-ecological transformation partnership launched by President Lula and Chancellor Scholz on December 4, 2023.

The cooperation will be implemented through the Global Partnership for Sustainable and Resilient Landscapes (PROGREEN) Multi-Donor Trust Fund (MDTF) of the World Bank to allow other partners to join and enable private finance mobilisation in conjunction with other World Bank programmes. This is the launch of the cash deposit (multi-donor trust fund) in the IKI project "Global Partnership for Sustainable and Resilient Landscapes (PROGREEN)"

The German Pavilion and the German delegation office is located in Zone A of the Blue Zone. Visitors of the pavilion need a Blue Zone accreditation. For further information on the venue and logistics, please visit the COP28 website.
