Future trends in sustainable cooling technology
The International Climate Initiative-funded programme Proklima organised the Third Interna-tional GIZ Proklima Expert Day to take place 10 October during the Chillventa Trade Fair. The theme of the event is 'future trends in sustainable cooling'.
The 3rd International GIZ Proklima Expert Day will take place on 10 October 2012 during the Chillventa Trade Fair in Nuremberg. The event's theme is 'future trends in sustainable cooling', and it was organised jointly by the Proklima programme of the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) and the German Federal Environment Agency. Proklima is funded in part by the International Climate Initiative (ICI) of the German Federal Minis-try for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU).
The event provides information on climate-friendly cooling technologies that use natural coolants and introduces related ICI projects. Experts from industry, politics and research provide insight into the newest technologies, for example by describing how hydrocarbon technologies work in room air conditioners. One of the presenters, Dilip Rajadhyaksha from the Indian air conditioner manufacturer Godrej, showcased a new and climate-friendly high energy efficiency model used for room air cooling. In this connection, an ICI project advised the Godrej Group in adapting its production practices to use climate-friendly hydrocarbon as a coolant and promoted the production of energy-efficient air conditioners at the same time.
Proklima will also have an information stand at the trade fair: Hall 1, Stand 1-426.
