International request for IKI country programme outlines

International Climate Initiative – applications sought for country specific programmes in Argentina, Costa Rica and Ukraine...

On December 13, 2018, the International Climate Initiative (IKI) of the German Environment Ministry (BMU) has launched three new calls for ideas seeking for programmes that implement climate and biodiversity activities in Argentina, Costa Rica or the Ukraine. Integrated, large-scale programmes with a funding volume between EUR 12,5 million EUR and up to EUR 35 million EUR and a duration of up to seven years are sought.

With its country-specific selection procedure, BMU underlines the importance of its bilateral cooperation with partner countries. Prior to launching the calls discussions with government representatives of the partner countries were held to identify the aspects of climate and biodiversity protection most relevant to each country.

Applications for all three calls can be submitted until 29 April 2019. A selection will be made jointly with the partner ministries of the target countries. Implementing agencies, non-governmental organisations, commercial enterprises, universities and research institutions from Germany and abroad are invited to participate.
