Publication "Blue Carbon and Fishery Potential in Kenya" Cover

Mangroves and seagrasses are the major blue carbon ecosystems in Kenya, providing multiple benefits to nature and the society. These ecosystems are in different states of degradation. The current study focuses on blue carbon ecosystems in Lamu and Kwale Counties, that collectively constitute more than 70% of the country’s mangroves and seagrass habitats. This endeavour will strengthen Kenya’s position to trade in the blue carbon credits and ensure sustainable development.
