Clean captive installations for industrial clients in Sub-Sahara Africa - Phase II

Unreliable grids, high electricity costs and dependence on fossil fuels are hindering economic growth in Sub-Saharan Africa and exacerbating social inequalities. The project is promoting the introduction of renewable energy generation facilities throughout the region that allow companies to use the electricity they generate directly (clean captive installations, CCI). It transfers successful models from the previous project to the four partner countries and extends them to other states. The project also improves access to financing, expands the necessary infrastructure and promotes knowledge exchange between companies, decision-makers and local actors. These measures create an environment that enables sustainable energy supply. As a result, industry and small and medium-sized enterprises receive reliable, cost-effective energy and reduce their dependence on diesel.
