FlexMex: Leveraging flexibility options and smart grids for renewables integration in Mexico

Integrating larger shares of renewable energy into grids is a shared challenge for many countries. The project creates better framework conditions for RE integration at distribution grid level by supporting grid flexibility measures. This accelerates the expansion of RE and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. The project works in close cooperation with local stakeholders in a needs-driven approach. Flexibility measures will be addressed from a technical, regulatory and financial perspective. It builds technical and change management capacities and applies at least a gender responsive approach to ensure that the impact lasts beyond the duration of the project. The project supports flagship projects that promote innovative solutions for grid flexibility and disseminates knowledge through expert networks that strengthen the global dialogue on flexibility.
