Green Transition Facility Jordan
Micro, small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) have a significant carbon footprint. They are important adopters of green business models and represent one of the largest untapped markets for renewable energy and energy savings. At the same time, MSMEs face various barriers that deter the adoption of sustainable technologies. The project facilitates access for MSMEs to appropriate financing for green investments. It provides private-sector financial institutions with long-term financial resources to implement projects in the field of renewable energies and energy efficiency. The plastics and rubber, textile, chemical and construction industries are important sectors for the project. The project provides private-sector financial institutions with financial products to lend them to MSMEs, mobilises private-sector financing for green investments and supports financial institutions and companies in developing technical and financial knowledge in green investments.
