New York Declaration on Forests Global Platform 2.0

The New York Declaration on Forests (NYDF) is a voluntary political declaration that called for global action to protect and restore forests and paved the way for achieving net-zero emissions targets by 2050. It provided a common and ambitious multi-stakeholder framework for forest action and consolidated various initiatives and targets that advanced the protection, restoration and sustainable use of forests. Launched in 2014 and since endorsed by more than 200 signatories, the NYDF is a comprehensive framework for global forest action. This was demonstrated when the G7 reaffirmed its commitment to the Declaration.

The NYDF Trust Fund played a critical role in the global effort to halt deforestation and promote sustainable forest management by funding and supporting projects that achieved concrete results in these areas.
