Restoring peatlands and applying concepts for sustainable management in Belarus
The project demonstrated how greenhouse gas emissions can be reduced and biodiversity increased by means of the rewetting and sustainable management of degraded peatlands covering an area of approximately 10,000 ha. The project partners developed an appropriate methodology and suitable financing mechanisms.
